SPC stands for Stone Plastic Composite, a core comprised of calcium carbonate (limestone), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and plasticizers. SPC does not have foaming agents added, giving it a stronger, and more robust core.Rigid Core Waterproof Stone Composite Flooring is a kind of spc flooring.
Because SPC’s core layer is comprised of limestone and PVC composite, it has a higher density in comparison to Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) products, such as USFloors Coretec line. This makes it more durable compared to WPC. Its high density offers better impact resistance to dents from furniture or heavy items being placed or dropped on top of it.

Unlike other flooring types, rigid core vinyl prides itself on rapid acclimatisation – it’s ready to be fitted after only 12 hours, meaning you can have your dream floor installed in no time at all. Simple to install, our rigid core vinyl is also part of our Easy DIY range, making it the perfect project for DIYers of varying abilities.
Constructed with a 70% limestone core to enhance durability, it’s no surprise our entire offering ranges from an AC4-AC5 rating – making for the perfect addition to any high-traffic area in your home.
Installing our rigid core vinyl range couldn’t be simpler thanks to its easy-to-install click system and clean joins that require no prior DIY experience, adhesives nor an extensive toolkit.
After acclimatisation, the room temperature should not be below 10°C or above 50°C ready for subfloor preparation. This includes levelling out any bumps or high spots and ensuring the subfloor is free of moisture. This flooring can be installed over most hard coverings if they’re clean, dry and structurally sound.
It is then time to begin installation, ensuring an expansion gap of 6mm-8mm is left around the edge before laying the floor.
As rigid core vinyl is incredibly stain-resistant, you won’t have to worry too much about keeping it looking its best. All it takes is a regular mop or vacuum to keep on top of it, and any spillages or dirt spots should be attended to as soon as possible to ensure a clean surface. It can also be steam mopped on a low setting with domestic steam mops.
For a more thorough clean, we advise using a PU cleaner with a damp mop and a neutral detergent followed by a clean water rinse.
